Zuidoost
There is a lot of entertainment on a large scale in Amsterdam Zuidoost. For example, here you have the impressive Ziggo Dome and AFAS live (previously this was the Heineken Musical Hall). Well-known artists and bands regularly perform here and there are also festivals and other large parties.
And not to forget, of course, the Johan Cruijf ArenA, where many Ajax fans travel to support their favorite team.
Oud-Zuid
Oud-Zuid is one of the richest neighbourhoods in Amsterdam. The wealth radiates from the impressive historic buildings, wide streets and unique shops.
In Oud-Zuid you will find the popular Vondelpark and the Museum Quarter, with some of the best museums in the world. The Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Concertgebouw are located on the cultural Museumplein.
The Pijp
The Pijp, an area that is part of Amsterdam-Zuid, is a real student neighbourhood, full of nice cafes and terraces. The Pijp is also known for the Albert Cuypmarkt, the most popular market in Amsterdam.
The Pijp was soon called the “Latin Quarter of Amsterdam”, because the neighborhood, with all the streets, cafes and atmosphere, is reminiscent of the Paris student district. It is also a very popular place to visit during your visit to Amsterdam, thanks to all the nice (various) cafes, restaurants, shops and nightlife.
