Tram & Bus
In Antwerp, public transport falls under the name “De Lijn”. This includes buses and trams. Are you arriving at central station? Great! Then you can easily switch from here to a bus or tram line to your destination. Buses and trams run regularly to all outskirts of the city and all major sights.
Even though you can visit many sights in Antwerp by foot, it is nice to know what the possibilities are. Via De Lijn route planner or the app you can easily check the fastest route to your destination. You can also plan the route via Google Maps.
Train
You can easily reach the center of Antwerp by train. Get off at Antwerp Central and from here it is a short walk to the heart of the center.
However, there are more stations in Antwerp. Antwerp Berchem, for example, is an important station. This is a hub for many international trains and from here you can also catch a train to and from the airport.
For the train, we recommend downloading the NMBS app (free). It allows you to buy tickets, track your train and save your routes. No app? Then check their website and enter your place of departure and destination.
Our tip: explore Antwerp by bicycle! A super fun and efficient way to discover the city.
